When you enter Legoland Florida Resort near Winter Haven, you also step into a piece of Americana. Cypress Gardens opened here in 1936 as Florida’s first commercial theme park and quickly became known for its spectacular water ski shows; more than 50 world records were broken there. When Legoland acquired the ‘Water Ski Capital of the World’ in 2010, it kept the tradition alive. The park hosts the spectacular Brickbeard’s Watersport Stunt Show, compete with pirates and gravity-defying stunts, daily on Lake Eloise. Meanwhile, members of the original Cypress Gardens water ski team present, a monthly free water ski show on Lake Silver.
