EPIC Universe – coming in 2025
5 Immersive Worlds coming to Universal Epic Universe. A new theme park coming to Universal Orland Resort. It is due to be finished by 2025. Epic Universe has been described as having a level of theme park immersion and innovation that is unmatched – transporting guests to expansive worlds featuring more than 50 awe-inspiring attraction, entertainment, dining and shopping experiences that come together to create an unforgettable adventure that is nothing short of epic.
Celestial Park
Celestial Park is said to “put the ‘park’ back into ‘theme park’, combining lush living gardens and water features with attractions, restaurants, and shops, all inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.
This isn’t just your entrance into Epic Universe. Some of the park’s star attractions will be located in Celestial Park, including:
- Starfall Racers – a dual-launch coaster that reaches speeds of up to 62 mph and heights of up to 133 feet along 5,000 feet of track. This one is not for the faint of heart!
- Constellation Carousel – travel through the Milky Way moving forwards, backwards and making 360-degree rotations for a fantastical whirl around the stars. This will be the grand centerpiece of Celestial Park.
- Astronomica – an interactive wet-play area that doubles as a giant compass, featuring gorgeous crystal blue fountains.
Celestial Park will be the gateway into the following four worlds, each bringing to life extraordinary adventures that go beyond guests’ wildest imaginations.
Epic Universe: Super Nintendo World
The fun begins as soon as you enter the land’s portal, in the form of the iconic green pipe found in classic Super Mario games. When guests emerge into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD they’ll be surrounded by “vibrant scenery and exciting kinetic energy… greeted by the familiar sights and sounds and sounds that they’ve experienced on their Nintendo game consoles”.
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. The classic Mario Kart game comes to life in this interactive, augmented reality attraction, perfect for a bit of (not-so) friendly competition. Join Team Mario to battle Team Bowser as you make your way through the corridors of Bowser’s Castle, collecting coins, tossing shells, dodging obstacles and more.
- Yoshi’s Adventure. This family friendly ride will give guests the best view over SUPER NINTENDO WORLD as they join Yoshi to travel throughout Mushroom Kingdom in search of glowing eggs, encountering many familiar characters along the way.
- Mine-Cart Madness. At the edge of Super Mario Land there will be the lush and tropical landscape of Donkey Kong Country, home to waterfalls, The Golden Temple, and the first-of-its-kind family coaster Mine-Cart Madness. Using an unprecedented ride system and innovative technology, guests will join Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to protect the coveted golden banana, performing jaw-dropping maneuvers, being blasted out of a barrel and seemingly jumping over gaps in the track!
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Meet and Greets. As you make your way around Super Mario Land there will multiple opportunities to meet with characters from the Super Mario franchise, including Mario and Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad!
- Toadstool Cafe. The Toads will be busy cooking up the most tasty dishes inspired by the world of Super Mario and its characters, perfect for appeasing the appetite you’ll have worked up from a competitive Mario Kart race! Dishes will include Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs, and more. You’ll even get to see a glimpse of the Toads in action through virtual windows around the restaurant.
- Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats. There will be two walk-up dining locations in Super Mario Land serving up snacks, themed-beverages, and other tasty treats that can be eaten on the go as you head to your next attraction.
- Donkey Kong Country. There will be a selection of tropical menu items available in the jungles of Donkey Kong Country, with more details set to be announced about this in the coming months. We’re sure there’s bound to be something banana themed on the menu!
Epic Universe: How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
This immersive land will transport guests into the colorful world of Viking adventures that they know and love from the How To Train Your Dragon film franchise, discovering what it’s like to live among dragons as soon as you step through the entrance portal. How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk is said to be “One of the most breathtaking environments Universal has ever created – complete with immense architecture featuring hand-carved details, lush landscaping, and extraordinary heights of rolling hills surrounding vibrant dragon houses and local establishments.”
But how will this be done? With a vast lagoon boasting two 40-foot-tall Viking statues surrounded by four attractions, entertainment offerings, character meet and greets and themed dining locations. Here’s what we know:
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders. This family thrill coaster will take new Vikings on a ride in Hiccup’s latest glider contraption. Flying alongside Hiccup and Toothless over Berk, you’ll reach speeds of up to 45mph around the perimeter of the isle… and even through the lagoon!
- Fyre Drill. Join mischievous twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut to compete in this wet and wild boat battle! Aboard a colorful dragon-headed boat you and your friends and family will blast water cannons at flame-like targets to practice putting out fires.
- Dragon Racer’s Rally. Practice aerobatic manoeuvres and high-speed barrel rolls on two dragon-riding trainers that soar up to 67 feet in the air. You can control how wild or mild your experience is as you perform gravity-defying moves worthy of a true champion dragon racer.
- Viking Training Camp. Even junior Vikings can start their dragon training at How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk! This adventure play camp will have them climbing, sliding and exploring on a Viking agility course, Toothless-themed teeter-totter and baby Gronckle dragon climbers.
- The Untrainable Dragon. This live spectacular is based on the wildly successful “Untrainable” show from Universal Beijing Resort. Featuring musical numbers, breathtaking sets and life-sized dragons in the skies above, the show will see Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber and Astrid working together to solve the mystery of the untrainable dragon.
- Meet Hiccup and Toothless. Guests will be able to head to the Haddock Paddock to meet the heroic dragon rider Hiccup himself, alongside his Night Fury Toothless. And there’ll be some familiar Viking and dragon facings roaming around the isle as well – you never know who you might meet!
- Mead Hall. Mead Hall is the main gathering place of Berk, where guests can feast like a Viking on meat, fish, sandwiches and more, as well as a selection of mead and ciders.
- Spit Fyre Grill. This quick-service location will be serving up hearty meals flame-seared by an unseen dragon fry cook, perfect for eating while watching the action of the Fyre Drill attraction.
- Hooligan’s Grog and Gruel. Grab quick bites from this racing-themed food stand
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
The Wizarding World already has pride of place in both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, and now it will be expanding even further, ready for guests to discover a brand new era of magic. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will blend 1920s wizarding Paris, as seen in Warner Bros. Pictures Fantastic Beasts films, with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.
Dark Universe
If you always wish that Halloween Horror Nights could last all year long then this is the land for you! In Dark Universe, guests will encounter everything from the experiments of Dr Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.
